James Bond Island – Phuket, Thailand
One of the most memorable locations in all of the James Bond movies is an island known locally as Ko Khao Phing Kan (and nicknamed “James Bond Island”) in Phuket, Thailand from The Man With The Golden Gun (1974).
You’ll remember the almost surreal rock formation jutting out of the ocean as we first arrive on Francisco Scaramanga’s island lair:
And it’s featured prominently as Bond saves the world from Scaramanga’s villainous plot:
Anyways, on the island itself these days, it is known as a tourist destination in Thailand, where you can buy various trinkets and items that reference the James Bond movie. A friend of mine recently visited and brought me back an engraved shell from the island. Pretty cool!
